Steph – really powerful, really painful. I am guessing you’ve seen this documentary “A Married Couple” about Cdn copywriter Billy Edwards and his wife Antoinette. I met Billy in his later life, when he had refashioned himself into William. Still a rake, but so charming! Worth a look for sure.

I read your book (practically non stop) the first weekend after I received it. I loved it. It made me laugh many times and it filled me with tears many times. I am going to read it again. There were so many places where your insights really rang true to me and helped me understand myself better. I was struck again by the similarities of our formative years (and differences too). Learning a bit more about Jake has caused me to imagine a conversation that he and my father probably had on one of the occasions when Jake picked me up at the dock in Gan. They would each have let the other know how much more superior he was. After I have read the book again, I will write you about the parts that really moved me.

I’ve just recently diosrveced your blog and I feel the need to thank you from my heart for sharing so much of yourself with all of us. You’ve inspired me to open up more in my blog and clear the space for me to just be- me. I feel lighter and happier as a result. So, thank you so much for that. Very best wishes to you from Colorado =).
